Any modern desktop or laptop that can run Blender will run the Digital Dental Sculptor Suite. Blender itself is free and works on Mac, Windows, and Linux. You don't need a high-end workstation.

Cost and time, mostly. A lab wax-up is $40 to $100 a tooth and a week or two of waiting. This is a one-time cost and the patient sees it at the same visit. The other difference is less obvious: when you design it yourself, you learn the case before you prep it.

Yes. The mockups export as standard 3D files you can send to any resin printer. Or send the digital file to your lab and skip their mockup fee.
